What is a snap shear?

Snap shear is a necessary shearing equipment applied in the high speed wire rod and bar rolling production line.

The function

1. The snap shear is located at the entrance of the pre finishing mill and finishing mill to ensure smooth and safe rolling.
2. In case of emergency rolling, snap shear will play a role.
3. Snap shear will cut off incoming materials and prevent incoming materials from entering the pre finishing mill and finishing mill, which can protect the hot rolling mills at work.

The structure and operation

1. Mainly composed of base, shear body and cylinder.
2. The shear is a pneumatically controlled double blade shear, with one blade above the rolled piece and the other below.
3. In case of an accident, the air cylinder acts to drive the upper and lower connecting rods through the linkage mechanism to close the shear blade. The two shear blades contact the rolled piece at the same time and cut it off through the operation of the rolled piece.
4. The base of the shear is of welded structure.

Lubrication and compressed air

1. Oil bearing is used for the shaft part of the snap shear blade frame.
2. The rest of the shear shall be lubricated with manual dry oil. The oil shall be supplied regularly.
3. The compressed air for the clip shear cylinder is uniformly supplied by the workshop, and the pressure of the compressed air is 0.4~0.6 Mp.
