On December 17, 2023, the company officially commenced the on-site maintenance project for Huaxin Yuan Steel Company. The scope of this task included the replacement of bearings and seal parts for one laying head, two vertical transmission gearboxes, and two bevel gearboxes. Additionally, five backup bevel gearboxes required replacement. The client requested work to begin on the 18th, with production to resume by the 29th. Given the substantial workload and the challenges of remote operations, including factors such as cross-operation, time constraints, and the weight of the task, this presented a significant test of the company’s organizational, execution, and assembly skills.
To ensure the smooth completion of the maintenance task, a detailed plan was formulated. Apart from planning the disassembly and return to the factory for maintenance of the laying head and one vertical transmission gearbox, a special task force comprising four skilled experts—Shi Jiangshui, Huang Wei, Wang Shuanglong, and Sun Yongmin—was formed. Led by Zhang He from the marketing department, this task force swiftly headed to the Huaxin Yuan site on the 17th to commence the challenging operation.
Since entering the Huaxin Yuan site on the 18th, the team quickly transitioned into an intense work mode. Zhang He managed on-site communication and coordination, while the other four team members worked collaboratively with parallel processes to organize production efficiently. To meet tight deadlines, the team worked diligently, with the last to leave always being the Hangji Weikodo team. To ensure the quality of the maintenance work, they were meticulous in their adjustments, ensuring every parameter met the required standards. After ten days of hard work, they completed the reassembly and precision tuning on the 29th, successfully passing the steel test on the 31st, bringing the task to a satisfactory conclusion. The team of five earned praise from the client for their spirit, dedication, and high level of expertise, enhancing the company’s reputation in a remote location.
Upon the return of the laying head and vertical transmission gearbox to the factory, relevant personnel from the company acted swiftly. The assembly workshop was cleaned and disassembled promptly, with technical and process personnel confirming replacement parts. The machining workshop expedited the production of components, and quality inspectors responded promptly. With the active efforts and collaboration of all departments, the two devices were completely overhauled in just six days, once again showcasing the strength and style of Weikodo in tackling tough challenges. Gratitude and commendations were extended to all personnel involved in this project.
