Production process of high speed wire rod(Part 3)

Finishing mill

The finishing mill consists of 8 V-shaped super heavy duty units followed by a 4-stand reducing and sizing mill. The design of the V-shaped super heavy roller box improves the rolling force during low temperature rolling and refines the grain size of the product. The finishing mill is configured with 10 230mm roller boxes and 2 150mm roller boxes, achieving optimal operational efficiency from the perspective of roller consumption costs. A water tank is provided between the two groups to cool the rolled piece before final deformation, control the final rolling temperature, and achieve low-temperature rolling. The rolled piece is rolled in a cantilever type tungsten carbide roller ring at high speed and without torsion to produce high-precision, high-quality wire products. According to the specifications of different products produced, the rolled pieces are rolled in the finishing mill for 2 to 12 passes. In production Φ 5.5~ Φ For wire rods of 7.5mm specification products, the guaranteed final rolling speed of the reducing and sizing unit is 112m/s.

Online caliper measurement

An online eddy current flaw detection device is reserved at the outlet of the reducing and sizing unit, and an online caliper device is installed to continuously monitor the surface and size of the finished product.
